Who can become a muslim

Islam is not only the religion of  muslim, but the religion for whole of the mankind. Any one and anytime can become a muslim. If one has fulfilled all the conditions of the pillars of faith in Islam, then he is a muslim. There is no compulsion in this religion. So, no human can force anyone to become a muslim. But one has to practice this religion from his heart.

islam

Life after death

Most of all the religion provides an article to make its believer in the life after death. Some of the religion also believes in having lief again and again. Islam too believes in life after death but deoesn't support the concept of having life again and again. According to islam the life in this earth we get only once and for the preparation of the hereafter. According to the faith and the practice of the human in this worldly life he is either destined to heaven where he can get all the comforts and luxuries or in hell where he have to burn for ever.

Attributes of God

There are 99 attributes of God mentioned in quran. These attributes are not like human attributes. They can be attributed to God alone. Further more these 99 attributes of God are the names of God by which we call God. Furthermore, we can call God by any name which are beautiful and doesn't contain any mental picture. Some, of the attributes of God described by the Qur'an are Ar-Rahman, which means most gracious, Ar-Rahim which means most meciful, Al-Khaliq which means the creator. Similarly, there are 99 attributes of God, and the crowning one is Allah.

Concept of God in Islam

The most concise definition of God in Islam is given in the four verses of Surah Ikhlas which is Chapter 112 of the Qur’an:

"Say: He is Allah,
The One and Only.
"Allah, the Eternal, Absolute.
"He begets not, nor is He begotten.
And there is none like unto Him."
                         [Al-Qur’an 112:1-4]
The word ‘Assamad’ is difficult to translate. It means ‘absolute existence’, which can be attributed only to Allah (swt), all other existence being temporal or conditional. It also means that Allah (swt) is not dependant on any person or thing, but all persons and things are dependant on Him.

Concept of worship in Islam

The concept of worship in Islam is misunderstood by many people including some Muslims. Worship is commonly taken to mean performing ritualistic acts such as prayers, fasting, charity, etc. This limited understanding of worship is only one part of the meaning of worship in Islam. That is why the traditional definition of worship in Islam is a comprehensive definition that includes almost everything in any individual's activities. The definition goes something like this: "Worship is an all inclusive term for all that God loves of external and internal sayings and actions of a person."
In other words, worship is everything one says or does for the pleasure of Allah. This, of course, includes rituals as well as beliefs, social activities, and personal contributions to the welfare of one's fellow human-beings. Islam looks at the individual as a whole. He is required to submit himself completely to Allah, as the Quran instructed the Prophet Muhammad to do:
"Say (O Muhammad) my prayer, my sacrifice, my life and my death belong to Allah; He has no partner and I am ordered to be among those who submit, i.e.; Muslims." (6:162, 163)

Pillars of IMAN (faith)

Iman is the most important and the first pillar of Islam. No person can ever enter to heaven if he doesn't have faith in oneness of God and in messengerhood. This pillar iman has further six pillars which actually describes the meaning of faith. These six pillars of faith are:
  1. Believe in oneness of God.
  2. Believe in angels.
  3. Believe in all the books revealed by God.
  4. Believe in messengers.
  5. Believe in Destiny.
  6. Believe in the Judgement day and in the life after death in heaven and hell.
No, one can have a complete faith until he believes in all these six pillars of faith. And these are the least condition in which we compulsorily need to have faith in.

The Five Pillars of Islam

The 'Five Pillars' of Islam are the foundation of Muslim life. These are the basic most thing which a human need to do to be inside the hose of Islam. No human can ever be called as Muslim if he/she denies any one of these pillars until he/she repents and again establish these pillars in his/her life.
  • Faith or belief in the Oneness of God and the finality of the prophethood of Muhammad;
  • Establishment of the daily prayers (five times a day);
  • Concern for and almsgiving to the needy (annual donation if he is rich);
  • Self-purification through fasting (in the month of Ramadan, month of the arabic lunar calender); and
  • The pilgrimage to Makkah for those who are able.(once a life time)

HOLY BOOK IN ISLAM

All the religions are described by its own holy Book. For e.g. Hinduism by Vedas, Christianity by Bible, and similarly the holy book in Islam is the Holy Qur'an. Holy Qur'an is the final revealation sent to whole of the mankind and was revealed to last messenger of God, Muhammad (peace be upon him). All the Holy scripture sent before was meant of a particular tribe only, but Holy Qur'an being the final revealation of God, it is meant for whole of the and till the last day. All the religious scriptures are today not in its original form due to human particiations, but the Holy Qur'an being the last reealation of god is under the preservation of God. Because of this we can find that the 1st copy of qur'an is exactly the same as the qur'an we are referring to now a days.

islam

These were some introductions of Islam. To go deep into it, there are few more things we need to know. Many people have misconceptions that Islam is a new religion and Prophet Muhammad was the founder of this religion. But, this is not true. The truth is that the Islam was there since the man set foot on this earth. It is because, the first human was Adam and he was the first messenger of God. And all the messenger submitted his will to almighty God. So, all the messengers praticed Islam. All the prophets before prophet Muhammad, i.e from Adam to Jesus were for certain group of people and for certain time. But Muhammad being the last prophet, he was meant for whole of the mankind and till the last day. So, instead of saying Muhammad as the founder of the Islamic faith we can say he was the seal of the prophet and he was the one who was inspired by God for the completion of all the religion.

islam

Islam, as we know, is one of the major religion of the world. About 30% of the world's population follows this faith. sla is derived from the root word SALAM, which in arabic means peace. It also means submitting one's will to almighty God. So, in short, Islam means "peace acquired by submitting one's will to almighty God". And the one who subits his/her will to almighty God is known as Muslim. So, Islam is practice more than a religion. This means, just by being born in a muslim family don't make him Muslim, but he/she has to practice Islam.

There are few things one has to compulsorily practice, to be under the boundary of this faith. The first point is to have faith on TAWHEED, which in arabic means to have faith in oneness of God, and to believe that there is only one creator, sustainer and cherisher of this universe. The second point is to believe in RISALAAT, which in arabic means to believe in messengerhood. That is to believe in all the messengers from Adam to last prophet Muhammad. The last point is to believe in AAKHIRAT, which in arabic means to believe in the life after death. That is to belive in the Judgement day, and in the life of heaven and hell.
